  1. ATTACK PADERBORN AIRFIELD

  3. Your Fighter Group has been converting 
  4. over to the P-80 from your old P-51D 
  5. Mustangs for the last month now.  At first, 
  6. you were all a bit sentimental about 
  7. leaving your old trusty mounts, especially 
  8. after some of the intense action you'd 
  9. seen together.  But now that you've had a 
  10. taste of the quiet power of the P-80's 4000 
  11. lbs. of thrust, there's no going back!
  12.  
  13. Now, as you're flying your first combat 
  14. sortie in your Star, you wonder what the 
  15. Luftwaffe boys will think when they get a 
  16. load of your new toys...

  18.                     YOUR MISSION
  19.  
  20. Lead your six P-80s in an attack on aircraft 
  21. parked at Paderborn airfield.  As you 
  22. approach the field, a schwarm of FW 190s 
  23. is taking off.  Destroy these enemy 
  24. fighters while they're still vulnerably slow 
  25. after takeoff.  Watch out for the pair of Bf 
  26. 109s flying top cover overhead, and don't 
  27. dawdle over the enemy antiaircraft guns 
  28. too long.

  30. Stay alert on your trip home.  Bonn 
  31. airfield was only recently captured and 
  32. the Luftwaffe has been giving stray 
  33. fighters in this area a rough time lately.
